يُعد سوق الزعفران أحد أقدم الأسواق الشعبية والتجارية في مدينة كريتر، وقد اشتهر قديمًا بسوق الصاغة والصرافة، ويتميز بتنوع محلاته التجارية، حيث تنتشر فيه المتاجر المتخصصة ببيع البهارات والهيل والقرفة، إلى جانب محلات الملابس، والحلويات، والمطاعم الشعبية التي تعكس الطابع العدني الأصيل.
ورغم صغر مساحته، يضم السوق خمسة مساجد تاريخية تعد من أبرز معالم المدينة، وهي:
